No one talks in this city.
Spiritless walk, the streets at night.
I hear the voices in the shadows,
Saying we are the future,
And you are the past.
Your gonna tell me about your blood brothers,
Don’t waste your words,
Let your guns do the talking.
In the play grounds out on the island,
You got lost in riots, with no one left to fight.
It doesn’t feel right, it’s the second tonight,
I’ll follow the path, go into the ground,
But it’s the best in me, it’s the best me,
Its best in me, oh it’s the best in me.
And then the spirit goes, back to the sea,
Back to the sea, back to the city.

Better late to the party than never. How did I miss this band? It's a great blend of The Cure during their 'a forest' period and alternative rock. The first track Grandview plunges you into an ocean of psychodelic guitars and rythmic drums and like a siren lures you into the depths. A very accomplished album and although I wouldn't categorize it as Gothic it captures the early spirit of that dusty genre better than most contemporary bands nowadays. stargazing robot
In the sweet spot of '80s college radio/goth nostalgia, this LA group has big pop hooks, chiming guitars and a wry, dark sense of humor. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 10, 2016
Subsonic Eye combines math rock, dream pop, and guitar sounds borrowed from post-rock for songs that whirl and flurry, but never quite settle. Bandcamp Album of the Day Sep 15, 2023
